Thermoplates

Laser welding is commonly used in the manufacture of cooling and heating plates. The extremely high reliability of laser welding and the flexibility and speed of the process makes laser welding technology ideally suited for the manufacture of cooling and heating plates. These thermoplates consist of 2 or 3 plates and can be produced in any desired shape at competitive prices, even in small batches. 3Dtec can ‘inflate’ the plates in-house through hydroforming or can assemble them from pre-formed parts.

Two flat plates with the same thickness are welded together using a keyhole weld. The plates are then deformed from the inside using fluid pressure.

Two flat plates with different thicknesses are welded together using a keyhole weld with limited penetration. The plates are then deformed from the inside using fluid pressure. The thick plate remains virtually flat while the thin plate deforms.

Two plate halves are pre-formed using pressing techniques and then welded together.

sandwich plates

This construction consists of two thin flat outer plates with a thicker plate in between. A pattern is cut out of the thick middle plate that is used to form the channels of the thermal plate.

Milled base block

A channel is milled into a thick base plate and closed off by a thin cover plate. The cover plate is welded using a keyhole weld to a maximum depth of 7mm.
